Dr. Stefan Wolff has been CEO of 4flow AG since 2000. 4flow AG, Berlin, co-founded by Wolff, is a leading provider of supply chain management consulting, software and services. 4flow consulting offers one-stop management consultancy, design and implementation support for logistics and supply chain management. 4flow vista is the standard software for supply chain design and optimization. 4flow turn is the web based standard software for inventory optimization. 4flow management offers continuous planning, optimization and control of logistics networks. Dr. Wolff is responsible for 4flow’s software development, company strategy, sales (together with Kai Althoff), finance and personnel.
From 1994 until 2000, Dr. Wolff worked in different positions with an internationally operating management and logistics consulting company, at last as a partner and Vice CEO. In this position, he was in charge of one out of three business units, and, additionally, from 1997 until 2000, for the setup of the U.S. subsidiary in Boston, MA.
Since 1990, Dr. Wolff has worked continuously as a consultant of large and medium-sized companies in the field of logistics. From 1989 until 1994, he was a research associate with Professor Dr. Helmut Baumgarten, Logistics Department, Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin).
Alongside this, he works as a lecturer for supply chain management at the TU Berlin and the Jacobs University Bremen. He is involved voluntarily as a member of the Executive Board of the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL). From 2001 until 2011 he had been a member the Research Council of the BVL, since 2007 he had been chairman of the Research Council. Dr. Wolff is a founding member of the Roundtable Germany, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP, formerly CLM), and a longtime member of the Association of German Industrial Engineers (VWI). Moreover, Dr. Wolff gets involved voluntarily with the cooperation of enterprises and schools.
In 1994, he received a doctorate with distinction, from now on being a "Dr.-Ing." of IT systems in lead time management at the Technical University of Berlin. His thesis was awarded the German Science Award of Logistics of the BVL (Federal Association of Logistics) 1994 and the Konrad Mellerowicz Prize 1995. From 1984 to 1989, he studied industrial engineering at the TU Berlin, graduating focused on mechanical engineering and logistics.
Dr. Wolff is the author of numerous publications in books, journals and newspapers, for example Wirtschaftswoche, Handelsblatt, FAZ, Die Welt, Jahrbuch der Logistik, Automobil Industrie, Logistik im Unternehmen, Maschinenmarkt, Logistik Heute, Zeitschrift für Logistik, Fördertechnik, Logistics Management & Distribution Report, RKW-Handbuch Logistik, Handbuch der Logistik, Handbuch industrielles Beschaffungsmanagement, Praxishandbuch Logistik. Moreover, he frequently speaks at conferences, congresses, workshops, seminars, MBA courses and training courses and acts as guest speaker at several universities.
