Technology Fast 500 EMEA
As one of few logistics enterprises, 4flow is among this year’s winners of the Technology Fast 500 EMEA. With this nomination, the 500 fastest-growing technology companies of Europe, Middle East and Africa are honored. Companies of the software, telecommunications, Internet, energy and life sciences industry belong to this segment.
On 27 November 2006, the accountancy firm Deloitte awarded the winners of the Technology Fast 500 EMEA awards 2006 in Paris. In this ranking, 4flow AG reaches the position 253, and is one of the few logistics companies among the awarded.
"The convincing growth rates of the Fast 500 companies raise the confidence in the technology sector of the EMEA region remarkably," Dieter Schlereth, executive partner and Industry Leader TMT at Deloitte, comments gladly. "Particularly the software and Internet enterprises benefit from their successfully scalable business models. It is a great pleasure for us that there are five German companies among the EMEA-wide top ten."
Technology Fast 50
4flow is among Germany’s 50 fastest growing technology companies.
In Munich/Germany, the famous Technology Fast 50 Award 2006 was awarded on 26th October 2006 by the audit and consulting firm Deloitte with support of the business magazine ‘Capital’. In this ranking, 4flow AG is on position 35, which is an excellent result, and at the same time it is the only company among the 50 winners focused on supply chain management.
With the prize, which awards Germany’s 50 fastest growing technology companies, outstanding business achievements are appreciated. In Germany, there is a total of more than 59,000 enterprises in the business segment of technology, which includes software, telecommunications, Internet, media, energy and life sciences. This year, more than 500 of these companies applied for the German Fast 50 Award.
“These companies combine initiative, innovation and a willingness to take risk with technical authority,” comments Dieter Schlereth, acting partner of Deloitte in the actual issue of ‘Capital’. The top 50 companies have a great deal in common: almost all of them are brilliant concerning team spirit, clear and fast decisions, excellent technology and sophisticated marketing. Furthermore, on the managerial level, continuity is profitable: even after years, most of Germany’s economy’s stars of growth are still led by their founders. “The will to success is decisive,” adds Frank Huelsberg, partner for technology, media and telecommunication at Deloitte.

National Prize for transport logistics
In 2005, the National Prize for transport logistics was announced for the first time. In the course of the award ceremony, two National Prizes, one special prize and nine nominees were awarded. The National Prize of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) is awarded to point out excellent logistics projects and their professional and innovative potential.
4flow – in co-operation with MAGNA STEYR Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co KG as well as inet-logistics GmbH – was nominated for the National Prize 2005 in category B: 'Products/ system solutions used at the market'.
The transport management module (TMM) used by MAGNA STEYR since February 2004 is an integrated, web-based IT solution for transportation planning (scheduling), transportation control (operations), container management and accounting (freight costs clearing) integrating logistics service providers and suppliers directly and within one technical system. The aim of TMM was to replace manual processes and isolated applications within the transportation management of the Magna group in order to double the manufacturing capacity which is based on order volume. This could only be achieved by a massive change of processes and with the help of an own and highly integrated IT solution. This solution enables a trans-sectoral and inter-company optimization of the total process.
The jury consists of experts of the categories traffic, transport and logistics, and media. The jury and the president of the jury are suggested and announced by bmvit.
These are the reasons the jury gave for the nomination of MAGNA STEYR and 4flow for the TMM: 'The TMM demonstrates a successful and, an in Austria partly unique system solution. It shows that the reorganization of transport mangement from manual processes and isolated applications to automatic and integrated systems is possible efficiently. When applying the system, reductions in transportation costs and process durations as well as a massive shift to carriage by rail were achieved rapidly.'

Project of the month
The team 'Project Future' of the Senate’s administration department for economy, employment and women – unit media, information and communication business Berlin – awarded the 4flow AG as project of the month of November 2001.
'To make flow' – that’s the eponymous motto of the 4flow AG. The start-up company from Berlin combines logistic know-how with modern information technology within its innovative corporative concept. The three business areas – consulting, software and content for the designing of logistic networks – address to large and medium-sized companies in the automotive, aviation, consumer goods, food, trade and wholesale trade, electronics and logistics service provider industry.
Industrial and trading enterprises move increasing commodity and information flows which become more and more different. Very complex relations between suppliers, places of production, warehouses, shipment and customers are created. These logistic networks continue growing constantly through mergers, takeovers and entrepreneurial reorientations; constant adjustments are necessary. That is where 4flow sees a big chance. Because only a frictionless flow of goods and information within the whole company guarantees cost advantages within the increasing competition. 4flow develops these advantages for its customers with new logistics concepts and innovative planning software.
